Add VAT to a net price or remove it from a gross price using the UK VAT rates published by GOV.UK. Choose the standard, reduced or zero rate, or enter a custom rate.
How it works
To add VAT, multiply the net amount by (1 + rate). To remove VAT, divide the gross amount by (1 + rate). For example at 20%: £100 net becomes £120 gross, and £120 gross contains £20 VAT. The rates used come from the Tax Data table, with the source and verification date shown below the calculator.
Examples
- £250 net at 20% = £50 VAT, £300 gross.
- £105 gross at 5% = £5 VAT, £100 net.
